Creating strong, unique passwords for every account is a good security practice, but remembering them all can be quite a challenge. A password manager helps by generating and storing unique passwords for different accounts, so you wouldn’t be tempted to reuse them across platforms.

With a password manager, you only need to remember one master password. It handles the rest, making your digital life both easier and more secure.

What is a password manager?

A password manager stores your login details, like usernames and passwords. These credentials are autofilled in websites and apps for easy access across your devices.

Most password managers also offer security checks for weak or reused passwords.

Dedicated vs. in-browser password managers

There are two types of password managers:

Dedicated password manager
In-browser password manager
Examples
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari
Where it’s stored
Standalone app or browser extension
Built into the web browser
Security features
Stronger encryption, password health checks, breach alerts
Basic encryption, fewer advanced features
Device syncing
Cross-device and cross-platform syncing
Usually limited to the browser or device
Best for
Users with multiple accounts and devices
Users who prefer quick, browser-based login storage
Note: If you use multiple browsers or devices, a dedicated password manager may offer more reliable syncing and greater control.

Note: Review each provider’s billing and setup process before getting started.

The setup steps depend on whether you use a dedicated password manager or an in-browser password manager.

With a dedicated password manager, start by downloading the app or browser extension and following the setup instructions. You’ll be asked to create a master password, which is the only password you’ll need to remember, so pick one that’s strong, unique and memorable.

With an in-browser password manager, password storage is usually linked to your browser account, such as your Google, Apple or Microsoft account.

Once your chosen password manager is ready, log in to your Pipedrive account as usual. When prompted, allow the password manager or browser to save your email and password.

If the login isn’t saved automatically, you can usually add it manually using this URL: https://app.pipedrive.com/auth/login

The next time you access Pipedrive, your password manager will autofill your credentials, so you can sign in faster.

Best practices for password security

Even with a password manager, it’s important to follow basic security guidelines to protect your accounts:

  • Don’t reuse passwords
  • Don’t share your passwords

If your master password is guessed, shared, leaked or phished, all stored credentials could be compromised.

Note: To add an extra layer of protection, we recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This ensures that even if your password is compromised, your account remains secure.
