You can set up multiple sender emails for your campaigns under Settings &gt; Senders.
To do so, simply click on the “+ Sender” button and enter a new sender email. All users will have access to sender and company information. Each added sender must verify their email address to be allowed to send email campaigns.

To comply with GDPR, each email campaign you send must contain an unsubscribe link at its bottom. 
An unsubscribe flow pre-populated with your company details will be added to the footer automatically from within the drag-and-drop editor.

Campaigns: add-on tiers

You can start creating your first automated campaign by going to Campaigns &gt; <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/marketing/automated-campaigns" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Automated campaigns</a> &gt; + Campaign.

The process of creating an automated campaign is very similar to the process of creating a regular email campaign. You can learn more about creating campaigns in <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/campaigns-create-a-campaign" title="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/campaigns-create-a-campaign">this article</a>.

The main difference is that you don't need to define your audience at this stage – it will be defined while building the automation.
<div class="support-note success primary">Note: Automated campaigns are technically different than regular email campaigns. If you have existing regular campaigns that want to automate, you will need to create them again in the Automated campaigns section. You can reuse campaign design templates for your automated campaigns.</div>
We highly recommend you give specific titles to your automated campaigns, as this will help you identify the right one within the automation setup and other features. Hover over the default title and click on it to edit.

Once your campaign is set up, click on Mark as ready at the top of the page and then Continue to automations to start setting up the automation.

When clicking on Continue to automations, you will see two options: Create automation and Add to existing automation.

You can create an automation from scratch or pick one of the templates we have available for you.

Start from blank
If you select Start from blank, you will need to give a name to your automation and will be redirected to the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/workflow-automation" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">automation</a> builder. Here, you can add the trigger and start creating your automation.
You can learn more about creating automations and their conditions in <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/workflow-automation-conditions">this article</a>, but there are three basic steps that you need to add to your automations:

Pick an automation template
If you choose any of the pre-existing templates, you'll only need to add a name to your automation – the automation with the marketing status and campaign will be created automatically afterwards. You can add or edit steps like other conditions or action events here.

To specify which users are allowed to trigger this automation, check the options list at the top-right of the automation and select the option you prefer.

By clicking on this option, you will see a list of available automations to choose from.

The automations displayed can be the ones you used for other automated campaigns or any other automations you created beforehand.
If you use automations created beforehand that don't have the marketing status condition and the campaign action steps, you will need to add them to the existing automation.
If you want to use existing automations without modifying their structure, we recommend duplicating the existing automation and using the new duplicate. You can then modify it freely without affecting the existing automation.

After creating your automated campaigns, they will all be displayed as a list with their corresponding statuses and rates.

Within the campaign Overview, you will find a summary of your campaign with the campaign and automation status, the subject, the sender and a small visual preview. And you can see more campaign details such as number of recipients, reply-to email, and preview text by clicking on the Campaign details button.

<h2>Recipients<a name="recipients"></a></h2>
Within the Recipients tab, you will see the contacts your automated campaign was sent to.

The campaign recipients list is classified depending on the different delivery statuses. You can click on every sub-tab to see the list of contacts and you can click on the contact itself to open the details.

<h2>Not sent recipients<a name="not-sent-recipients"></a></h2>
There are several reasons why your recipients could be skipped from your campaigns:
<ul><li>Contact not subscribed</li></ul>
To send out automated campaigns, you must add the condition "Marketing status is Subscribed" to the automation. The contacts that don't have the Subscribed <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-marketing-contacts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">marketing status</a> added will be skipped and will not receive the automated campaign.
<ul><li> Account issues</li></ul>
If your company is under <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-account-verification">account review</a> or suspension, the automated campaigns you've scheduled to be sent out will be paused. They will restart only when the account review ends or the suspension is canceled. You'll see banners within the Campaigns features indicating that these processes are ongoing.
 
If any of your automated campaigns are blocked due to their content, you need to remove them from "Automation" in the campaigns list and add a new campaign with different content. The automation will then continue to work.
 
You can see the number of contacts that will not receive the blocked automated campaigns within the Delivery report under Not sent. 
<ul><li>Double opt-in missing</li></ul>
If your account has the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-double-opt-in-marketing-contacts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">double opt-in requirement</a> enabled, only contacts with this status will receive automated campaigns. You can see the number of contacts that don't have double opt-in status within the Delivery report under Not sent.
<ul><li>Permissions missing</li></ul>
 To send out automated campaigns, you need <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/permission-sets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">permissions</a> for the Campaigns app. If you create an automation and your company admin revokes your permissions, the automated campaigns will be stopped. You can learn more about the permissions that are needed in the next section.

So – ready to get started? Not so fast. Before you get started, it’s important to keep email delivery compliance laws in mind. Your customers will need to first opt-in or subscribe to receive your email communications. <h2 style="text-align: justify"><a name="subscribe-your-customers"></a>Subscribe your customers </h2>
Using our <a href="https://www.pipedrive.com/products/email-marketing-software" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campaigns</a> tool means you can send campaigns to your Pipedrive customers and keep all of your sales and marketing information under the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/detail-view">detail view</a> of your contacts.
To receive campaigns successfully, your contacts will need the Subscribed status under the Marketing status field. This means that the customer has opted into receiving your email communications. Without this status, you can’t legally start sending them emails. 
The marketing status can be viewed and updated in the contact’s detail view or the list view.

If you use our <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/web-forms" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Web Forms</a>, you’ll also be able to subscribe your contacts directly from the web form editor. In the Edit field block, you’ll see a dropdown with different fields. If you select “Marketing status” the consent statement is automatically filled in.

To be compliant with email delivery rule laws, you need to confirm your company’s physical address. It will be automatically filled with the address listed under your billing information, but you can always make changes later. 
To be GDPR compliant, every email campaign needs to have an unsubscribe footer at the bottom, where viewers can opt out of your email communications. 
Set up your account by going to Campaigns &gt; <a href="http://app.pipedrive.com/marketing/settings">Settings</a>.

After you send out your campaign, you can monitor the performance easily on that campaign's Overview and Recipients pages after selecting the sent campaign. Here you can track:

However, it’s important to remember that your customers may have email providers that prevent the tracking of email opens and link clicks. In 2021, both Apple Mail and Gmail implemented new mail privacy policies to protect their consumers. 
In these cases, Pipedrive can‘t provide any tracking information for those emails and the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/insights-reports-emails-performance" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">emails performance reports</a> won’t reflect this data.

Pixel-based email tracking is only accurate if your customers’ email providers allow it, so while email tracking is helpful, there‘s no way to know if customers are opening your emails in the first place.
Here are a few tips to make sure you’re getting the best data possible:
<ul><li>Link tracking is not affected by policies or caching, making it one of the most reliable engagement metrics</li><li>Focus on reliable and actionable data like deliverability, bounces, unsubscribes and spam reports.</li><li>Spam reports and unsubscribe requests can help you identify content irrelevant to your customers or diagnose weaknesses in your campaigns. Also, bounces can indicate outdated contact details or other issues with your email lists.</li></ul>
These metrics provide information about your email performance and what resonates with your customers, while also helping you protect your <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-dmarc-and-email-deliverability" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sender reputation</a>.

Apple's Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) is a set of features that allows users of the Apple Mail app or desktop email app to hide information about when, where and how they open emails.
The following operating systems have implemented this privacy protection:

Any users running these operating systems, or operating systems released since then, won’t be trackable using pixel images if Apple Mail app with MPP is turned on.

<h2>Gmail image caching<a name="gmail-image-caching"></a></h2>

For security reasons, instead of loading images from an external host server each time someone opens an email, Gmail stores these images locally on its own proxy servers.

After you select your filters you can choose how that data is visualized. 
You can start by selecting a chart type to use in the top left corner.

You also have three fields (two if you’re making a conversion report) you can use to further specify how you want your data presented: measure by, view by and segment by.
Measure by This field defines which units are used to present the data, and is represented by the height of the columns.

This field dictates how the horizontal axis of your chart is shown and is represented by the category used to split your columns.

Once you’ve filtered and visualized your data, you can look at the table view for a spreadsheet layout of the data in the chart.

Pipedrive's drag-and-drop editor is an easy-to-use tool to help you create attention-grabbing designs and engaging content for your contacts. This can be used to create email campaigns, newsletters, or templates for future use.

<h2 style="text-align: justify"><a name="using-the-drag-and-drop-editor"></a>Using the drag-and-drop editor</h2>
To begin, go to Campaigns &gt; <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/marketing/campaigns">Email campaigns</a> and select "+ Campaign".

To start using the drag-and-drop editor, click on the "Design your email" option under Content. You will then be able to choose whether you would like to design your email campaign from blank, or you can choose one of our existing email campaign layouts to edit.

You will then be brought to the Content editor page where you have three tabs to design your campaign – Content, Rows and Settings.

Rows
Rows allow you to create the layout of your email. By default, you will have one row added at the top of your email, which you can drag content blocks to, or delete by clicking on the row and selecting the trash can icon.

By clicking on a row, you will open the Row properties in the sidebar on the right-hand side of the page where you can choose your row settings, such as adding a border, background color/image and padding.

Content
Content blocks allow you to add types of content to your layout. The content block options available are:

When you have added different content blocks to the rows in your campaign, you can click on the block to edit the different content properties for that block type. Clicking on a text block will show a toolbar allowing you to edit your text.

To build a template, click on Campaigns &gt; <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/marketing/templates">Templates</a> and select "+ Template" to begin using the drag-and-drop editor.

In the drag-and-drop editor, you will see an unsubscribe footer attached at the bottom of your campaign design. This is mandatory and is not possible to remove as it is necessary for GDPR compliance and also ensures a strong email delivery reputation.

We provide you with a default unsubscribe text but, if you want to change it, you are able to edit it. Click on the footer to open the editor. You will see the Text and the Link text fields and the Preview text section.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">What is marketing status and why is it needed?<a name="what-is-marketing-status-and-why-is-it-needed"></a></h2>
In email marketing, permission is the key. Contacts must have opted-in to start receiving any marketing communications from you.
Pipedrive tracks the subscribed status under a custom field called marketing status. Email campaigns will only be successfully sent to contacts with a subscribed status under this field.

In Pipedrive, the marketing status is attached to an email, connected to a person and the first email in case of multiple ones. The marketing status is not applicable to leads and deals.

A contact's marketing status can be one of the following:

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Managing contact marketing statuses <a name="managing-contact-marketing-statuses"></a></h2>
<div class="support-note success primary">Note: The marketing status will be linked to an email address and a contact person. If the contact person has more than one email address, it will be linked to the first email address. </div>
To successfully send email campaigns to your contacts, they will need to have a marketing status of "Subscribed". 
Contact marketing statuses can be managed in the bulk edit view of contacts, contact detail view, contact list view and in the "Add person" modal. You can change a contact's marketing status from "No Consent" to "Subscribed" to "Unsubscribe". The unsubscribed and bounced statuses will automatically be updated if a viewer unsubscribes or an email is bounced.
Once a contact's status is unsubscribed or bounced, it will not be editable.
 
Bulk edit view – You can use the bulk edit functionality to update the marketing statuses of multiple contacts at once.

To send a campaign to your contacts, you will need to first create a filter for the group of people you want to send the campaign to.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Creating filters for your campaigns<a name="creating-filters-for-your-campaigns"></a></h2>
When creating a marketing campaign, both selection and creation of filters are available. You can select from favorite filters, pick them by owner name, recently used or search by filter name.
If you don’t find what you need, you can start creating a new <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-filtering" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">filter just for your marketing communications</a> by clicking the "Add new filter" button or editing existing ones through the edit icon.

The "Subscribed" status is mandatory when sending out campaigns and this condition is already applied by default. When it happens, you should change your filter conditions in order to find subscribers or update the marketing status of your contacts. 
In "Preview", you will be able to review recipients and the list of excluded recipients. Exclusion can happen based on several reasons: there is no "Subscribed" status, the contact has no email address, etc.

<h2>What is email sender domain authentication?<a name="what-is-email-sender-domain-authentication"></a></h2>
Email sender domain authentication (or simply domain authentication) is the process that allows you to tell email service providers that Pipedrive is a trusted sender from your domains. To give Pipedrive that permission, you need to add certain DNS records (CNAME and TXT) on your domain registrar page (like GoDaddy, Rackspace, Cloudflare and others) and point those records to Pipedrive. Domain authentication is about security and deliverability, as it helps you protect your brand's reputation and helps your emails reach the inbox. Authenticating your email domain doesn't only protect your domain from being used for fraudulent, spam, or spoofing purposes. It also builds your trust and reputation score with the major Internet Service Providers (ISPs), translating directly into greater deliverability success and, ultimately, even better email campaign results.

<h2>DKIM and Company identifier<a name="dkim-and-company-identifier"></a></h2>
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a domain authentication technology that uses a cryptographic signature linked to a domain to guarantee the message was not altered between the sender and the receiver.
Technically, DKIM provides a method for validating a domain name identity that is associated with a message and the content of the message itself through cryptographic authentication. The identity is independent of other email identities, such as the author from: field. 
In Campaigns, DKIM requires you to add two CNAME records to your domain registrar page. 
The third record you need to add is the company identifier TXT record. It is linked to your company and domain and is used to guarantee no malicious company can impersonate a trusted Pipedrive sender.

Once you add these three DNS records and after they have been propagated successfully (which may take up to 48 hours), your domain will be authenticated. <h2>How can I authenticate my email sender domain in Campaigns?<a name="how-can-i-authenticate-my-email-sender-domain-in-campaigns"></a></h2>
Before you start, there are three things you must know:
<ol><li>Domain authentication is optional, but we strongly recommend it if you use our Campaigns feature and have DMARC-protected domains. Learn more about DMARC and how it can affect deliverability in <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-dmarc-and-email-deliverability" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this article</a>.</li><li>You can authenticate only the domains you or your company own and control. You will need to have access to the management of the DNS records of these domains. Learn more about DNS management in <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-how-to-edit-dns-records" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this article</a>. </li><li>Before you can send campaigns from an authenticated domain, you will have to verify the sender email associated with that domain. </li></ol>
Steps to authenticate your email sender domain
Step 1. Go to Campaigns &gt; Settings &gt; Domain authentication and click on "+ Domain" on the right-hand side of the page.

Step 2. A small pop-up about domain information will appear. Enter your domain name and click on "Generate DNS records".

Step 3. Your domain will be visible in the domain information section. At the bottom of the page, you will see the domain records section. Here, you can find the CNAME and TXT records that you need to add to your <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-how-to-edit-dns-records" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">DNS records</a> list on your domain registrar's website.

Step 4. You need to wait until the added DNS records are fully propagated, and the domain authentication status changes to authenticated. DNS propagation is the process whereby DNS records are updated across all servers on the web. Any changes you make aren't immediately visible because web servers store domain record information in their cache for a predetermined amount of time. The timeframe for propagation depends on several factors, including your internet service provider (ISP), your domain's registrar and the TTL (cache) values of your DNS records. On average, it takes up to 48 hours for all servers to update their records. To ensure that DNS records are in order, use online tools such as <a href="https://mxtoolbox.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MX Lookup Tool</a> or <a href="https://mxtoolbox.com/NetworkTools.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Network Tools From MxToolBox</a>. Your domain authentication will have a pending status until the propagation is complete. Click on "Refresh status" to check the status of the propagation process.

When the domain status is changed to authenticated, this means the process has been completed, and your email sender domain has been authenticated successfully.

To begin creating your campaign, go to Campaigns &gt; <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/marketing/campaigns">Email campaigns</a> and select "+ Campaign". This will open up your campaign page.

After adding a title for your campaign, choose the recipients for your email campaign. You can select a list of contacts by owner or by filter. You will have the option to select a filter that you have created for your email campaign or the option to add a new filter. Under "From" you can choose the sender email you would like the campaign to be sent out from. The sender email will be one of the verified ones you set up in settings, but you can change the sender name and reply-to address. You can also add new sender names directly from this page.

Next, you have the option to add your email campaign subject and preview text. Please be aware that the subject field is required.

The campaign report displays data about a single campaign, so you can understand campaign success and use the data to improve your future marketing efforts.

<h2 style="text-align: justify"><a name="tracking-your-campaign"></a>Tracking your campaign</h2>
Data in top location performance is available to users who send out campaigns and have engagement tracking enabled. When you turn on the tracking, you allow Campaigns to insert a tracking feature into your sent email campaign.
Before sending your email campaign, enable the Engagement trackings at the bottom of your campaign draft. You can learn more about <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-engagement-notifications" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">campaign notifications</a> here.

Engagement
You will see the Engagement section at the top of your campaign overview. This gives you an understanding of your campaign opens and clicks.
<ul><li>Total/Unique opens – Unique opens are the number of contacts who opened your campaign. Total opens show the total times the campaign was opened, as contacts can open one campaign several times.</li><li>Open rate – This displays how many contacts opened the campaign in percentages from all emails delivered</li><li>Total/Unique clicks – Unique clicks is the number of contacts who clicked on links inside your campaign. Total clicks show the total times a link was clicked, as contacts can click a link several times.</li><li>Click rate – This is how many contacts clicked on links inside the campaign in percentages of all emails delivered</li><li>Click-through rate – Your click-through rate is how many recipients clicked on links from those contacts who opened campaigns in percentages</li></ul>

Delivery
In your Delivery section, you will see a breakdown of your successfully delivered emails, your bounced emails, unsubscribes and spam reports.
<ul><li>Successfully delivered – When you send out a campaign, not all emails are always delivered. The email may be wrong, the contact inbox could be full, or their server could be blocking specific email addresses, etc. This number shows how many contacts got the campaign delivered to their inbox.</li><li>Bounced – The number of contacts that didn’t get the campaign delivered</li><li>Unsubscribed – This is the number of contacts who unsubscribed from your marketing communications from this campaign</li><li>Reported as spam – This is the number of contacts that marked your campaign as spam</li></ul>

Campaigns' top location performance (GEOlocation) is a solution that helps you to see where your subscribers are located when they open your email campaign.
This solution can help you identify a time to communicate with your contacts, e.g., when your subscribers probably are not sleeping.

When you send out an email campaign with engagement tracking switched on, we send it together with Campaigns inserted picture elements and Campaigns inserted tracking links on your added links. When your subscriber opens an email campaign, it loads the picture elements.
In most cases, images are loaded automatically, but in email providers such as Yahoo and Gmail, subscribers can turn off images to be loaded automatically.
As soon as images are loaded for the first time, we update the data in your Top location performance section.
<h4 style="text-align: justify">How do we report from which country your subscriber opened your campaign?</h4>
Our service checks from which country is the email service provider, same as Gmail requested our picture elements. As the location is IP address-based, we know which country to show in the Top location performance section.
<h4 style="text-align: justify">If Campaign reports show that your subscribers opened a campaign from the USA, does it mean subscribers are located in the USA?</h4>
Not always. In most cases, open location data will not tell you if a subscriber is located in the country where it opened the campaign.
The reason behind this is the email provider proxy server. E.g., if <a href="https://gmail.googleblog.com/2013/12/images-now-showing.html" title="https://gmail.googleblog.com/2013/12/images-now-showing.html">Gmail</a> and Yahoo proxies are located in the USA, then images will be loaded from the USA and open will be counted from the USA.
<h4 style="text-align: justify">What else could be a reason why the subscriber location is not exactly where the contact is located?</h4>
<ul><li>The subscriber uses a Virtual Private Network (VPN), which helps to hide his privacy, including his location</li><li>The subscriber is using proxy solutions</li><li>The subscriber forwarded your emails to people in other locations, meaning that the clicks came from different locations</li><li>IP addresses can be relocated to different regions. Even though we keep the most recent up-to-date information from the IP service, sometimes an open or click happens when an update is in progress.</li><li>The subscriber is using other technologies that are hiding their location</li></ul>
<h4 style="text-align: justify">What to expect in the near future?</h4>
Mail applications, e.g., Apple and Outlook, and mail web browser providers, e.g., Safari and Chrome, could implement privacy protection which by default will be on.
These services will hide the actual subscriber location, so when the subscriber clicks on the link, those clicks can be counted from another country’s location.

The Recipients tab provides you with full lists of contacts who engaged with your campaign. Contacts are split by their behavior – Opened, Clicked, Unsubscribed and Bounced.

Bounces are contacts on your list who did not receive your email campaign. There can be some reasons why your emails have bounced.
<ul><li>Hard bounce – These are non-existent email addresses, likely caused by typos, incorrect domains, inactive email addresses, etc.</li><li>Soft bounce – Soft bounces are caused when the email address is correct, but the email was not delivered due to content rejection, the receiver’s inbox is full, the email size is too big, etc. </li><li>Temporary bounce – Your email campaign has attempted delivery multiple times but, as a result of the recipient’s server not responding, your email is not delivered </li><li>Blocked bounce – This is caused if your email includes inappropriate links or if the receiver has added your email address or IP to their blocked list </li></ul>

<h2 style="text-align: justify"><a name="contact-and-engagement-data"></a>Contact and engagement data</h2>

As well as viewing your data on the recipient’s list, you can also find your contact engagement data on the contacts <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/detail-view">detail view</a> and the deal detail view linked to the contact.
In the engagement section of your contact and deal detail view, you will see both changes in the contact status and record every specific campaign in which the contact has engaged.
Initially, the campaign item will show the contact name, the campaign name and the time sent. As the contact opens/clicks the campaign, the event will update automatically.

One essential step of this maintenance is company reviews, which are regularly done to make sure that our users do not use prohibited content and poor-quality contact emails.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">When will an account review be triggered for me?<a name="when-will-an-account-review-be-triggered-for-me"></a></h2>
There are two types of account review: mandatory review and optional review.
Mandatory review
You will receive a mandatory review request after emails are sent out to a certain number of unique contact email addresses. This number will depend on how many subscribed contacts you have sent your campaigns to. When this number exceeds a limit, your emails will be paused until your account review is completed (up to 24 hours after the form is submitted). 
Optional review
An account review is also essential to purchasing Campaigns after your Campaigns trial period. Throughout the duration of the Campaigns trial, you can submit the account review form proactively (i.e., not wait until a mandatory review is triggered). 
To do so, click "Learn more" in the bottom left of your campaigns section.

In this case, you can continue to send emails while your account review is completed (up to 24 hours after the form is submitted). Submitting the optional review also enables you to purchase Campaigns immediately after the trial, without any delay.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">What is the account review process?<a name="what-is-the-account-review-process"></a></h2>
The review form will contain the following questions:

The submitted form will then be sent to our email compliance team. After your review is confirmed, the account admin will receive an email notification and any paused campaigns will be sent automatically.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">What if my account cannot be reviewed?<a name="what-if-my-account-cannot-be-reviewed"></a></h2>
To maintain quality deliverability infrastructure, we need to follow industry best practices, standards, terms and rules.
If your account can not be successfully reviewed, we have reason to believe that your planned campaign send-out may harm your service reputation and affect email deliverability quality to other companies.
If your account cannot be successfully reviewed, our email compliance team will refuse your account review or advise you with practices to comply with.
To avoid account review refusal you must comply with Pipedrive Campaigns anti-spam policy and you may not use prohibited content as described under <a href="https://www.pipedrive.com/en/terms-of-service">Pipedrive Terms of Use</a>.
If you are violating our Pipedrive Terms of Use, we have reason to restrict access to your Pipedrive Campaigns account.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">FAQ<a name="faq"></a></h2>
Why is an account review needed?
We want to maintain a service that successfully delivers emails into inboxes. To do so, we need to make sure that your email campaign content is not suspicious, which means your receivers will not mark received messages as spam or phishing.
If we skip this review process and accept senders automatically, the quality rate of the Campaigns infrastructure may drop, and sent emails will end up in spam folders or come back as blocked.
Can I use Campaigns while my account review is in progress?
If you are under an optional review, then you can use every functionality available in your account. There are no restrictions in case of an optional review.
If you are under a mandatory review, then you can use every functionality available in your account while your account is paused for reviews, except for sending out new email campaigns.
Is review a repeated process?
Yes. When you are adding more new contacts, we may ask you to fulfill review questions again about your newly added email contacts.
I have a time-sensitive campaign that I need to send out. What can I do?
Any outgoing campaigns will be paused during the review process and resumed after account approval. If you need to cancel time-sensitive campaigns click on the More “[...]” button and then "Cancel”.

All admin users will automatically have full access to the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive">Campaigns add-on</a>. Access for regular users and other permission sets can be managed by admin users by going to Company settings &gt; Manage users &gt; Permission sets, selecting the correct user group and enabling these permissions:

Segmenting a recipient list is essential for reaching customers with the right message. With <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campaigns</a>, you can use filters to send specific campaigns to a specific audience.

There are two ways to create filters for sending out campaigns. 
In your people list view, click the filter button and then “+ Add new filter.”

In addition to segmenting your contacts, you can select filters based on campaign data such as send date, interactions (opens and clicks) and subscription date. You can combine these conditions and include other person filters as well.
The Campaigns feature offers the following marketing engagement conditions:

You don’t need to use the campaign title filter since using applicable campaign filters will automatically open a dropdown menu to select a specific campaign:

For example, to create a list of contacts who opened the “Welcome newsletter” campaign and clicked a specific link, the filter conditions should be specified in the ALL section:

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Subscriber tiers<a name="subscriber-tiers"></a></h2>
The subscriber limit tiers are structured according to the number of <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-marketing-contacts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">marketing contacts</a> with "Subscribed" marketing status that an account has. 
If the subscriber limit is reached, new contacts will be assigned a pending upgrade marketing status. When you upgrade your account to a higher subscriber tier, and as long as the number of new contacts you've added stays within its limits, the pending upgrade contacts will automatically change to "Subscribed". 
If you reached the subscriber limit and wish to upgrade to a higher tier, click on "Increase limit" to be redirected to the <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/settings/subscription/addons?package=campaigns" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Billing</a> page.

Adding Campaigns to your subscription 
To add <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campaigns</a> to your subscription and select the Campaigns add-on on the <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/settings/subscription/addons?package=campaigns" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">billing</a> page. Note that you can also change your subscriber tier from this page.

Upgrading to a higher subscriber tier 
You can upgrade to a higher tier by clicking on "Change number".

Use the slider to select your desired number of contacts, between 1k and 50k subscriber spots (by 1k increments). As you move the slider, the estimated cost will appear on the right-hand side based on the overall contacts' number. The more contacts you choose, the less you pay per subscriber.

The new tier limit will be applied to your company account immediately. This means you will be charged a prorated amount from that date until the end of your current billing cycle. From the next billing cycle, the new subscriber tier will already be effective, and the full amount will be charged. 
<div class="support-note success primary">Note: If you are still on your trial period and wish to upgrade your subscriber tier, the selected tier will be applied automatically upon the trial's end. </div>
Downgrading to a lower subscriber tier
To downgrade to a lower subscriber tier, click on "Change number" in the Campaigns add-on section on the Billing page and choose a lower limit using the slider. The slider will not let you downgrade to a tier lesser than the number of subscribed contacts you already have.
For example, in the scenario shown below, the user can't downgrade to below 28,000 subscribed contacts since they already have 27,001 subscribers on their contacts page. If the user wishes to downgrade to the 27,000 subscriber tier, they should remove excess contact with subscribed or pending upgrade marketing status.

This can be done by selecting the required number of contacts on the Contacts page in the list view and archiving them by changing the marketing status to "Archived". Cancelling Campaigns
If you wish to cancel the subscription to Campaigns, unmark the selection for the Campaigns add-on on the billing page and confirm the action by clicking on the green buttons. You will see a pop-up confirming the add-on cancelation and the effective date.

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance or DMARC, for short, is an email authentication protocol that prevents email senders and recipients from receiving spam, spoofing and phishing.
This protocol ensures the authenticity of the sender and the validity of the email. Configuring emails to pass DMARC is the only way for email senders to inform email recipients that the emails sent from their domain are legit. 
DMARC is not mandatory, but most modern email servers are now using it, which means if your DMARC is not set up correctly, your emails could be sent to spam.

If you have a sender email linked to a DMARC-protected domain and want to send an email campaign using <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campaigns</a>, we recommend that you <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-email-domain-authentication" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">authenticate your domain</a>. This is to give Pipedrive permission to send emails on your behalf using your domain name.
This will let your emails pass the DMARC check conducted by the email receiving server of your campaign recipients. Without authentication, you may experience email deliverability issues such as emails delivered in the junk folder (in case of quarantine DMARC policy) or blocked.

Schedule campaigns for later is a feature that allows you to schedule your <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">campaigns</a> to be sent at any time and date in the future.

To schedule a campaign for a later time, head to the campaigns editor form and locate the sending time section. Next, select the "Schedule for a specific time" option. Here, you can enter the date and time when you'd like your campaign to be sent out.

Once you have selected a date and time, click on the "Schedule" button in the top-right corner.

To cancel a campaign to be sent out, go to the email campaign list and click on "(...) &gt; Cancel and move to drafts":

Sometimes, you need to transfer data from different programs to your Pipedrive account. If you have Mailchimp contacts you'd like to migrate to Pipedrive, this next guide is for you.

<h2>Exporting data from Mailchimp<a name="exporting-data-from-mailchimp"></a></h2>
In your Mailchimp account, go to “All contacts” under the Audience menu. From there, select a segment to export, then click “Export Segment”.

Once Mailchimp exports your segment, your contact page will reload, showing your export history. From here you can click the “Export As CSV” button to download your list.

Now that the data has been exported from Mailchimp into a CSV format, it can be easily imported into Pipedrive.

Marketing contacts in Pipedrive are the contacts that opted-in to start receiving marketing communications from you.
To import your Mailchimp data:

Using Campaigns means sending out email campaigns from Pipedrive’s shared infrastructure. Our infrastructure allows emails to land in the recipients' inbox and prevents them from bouncing due to its reputation. 
Since double opt-in contacts rarely diminish the quality of email delivery reputation, we require that some businesses use it for their email marketing campaigns.

Our email compliance team investigates each case before limiting a company's account. Email compliance will not require you to only use double opt-in contacts if risks haven't been identified. 
Below is a list of cases when email compliance might limit a Campaigns account:
<ul><li>The company is in a prohibited content category</li><li>The company sent out campaigns that blocked Pipedrive's infrastructure</li><li>The company sent out campaigns that reduced the supply of infrastructure to spam</li><li>The company attempted to send out email campaigns to either uninterested or not opted-in contacts</li><li>The company doesn't follow Pipedrive's sent email delivery improvement recommendations</li></ul>

With <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campaigns</a>, you can create and manage double opt-in status contacts. Double opt-ins, also known as confirmed opt-ins, are contacts that have confirmed their subscription after clicking on a confirmation link sent to them via email.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Why double opt-in?<a name="why-double-opt-in"></a></h2>
Using double opt-in reduces the likelihood that your contacts will mark your campaigns as spam or that the campaign itself will be marked as spam. 
Additionally, gaining explicit consent for marketing emails is required by law for European contacts. Moreover, companies must be able to provide proof that the user has consented to the processing of the data when asked. Some European countries (e.g., Germany) recommend double opt-in rather of single opt-in to provide such proof.
With Pipedrive's double opt-in solution, you can maintain a better quality email list for marketing campaigns.

To send out a double opt-in request (DOI request), start by clicking on any of your contacts' <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/detail-view" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">detail view</a>.
In the marketing section, next to double opt-in, you will see a "Send request" button:

Once clicking on the “Send request” button, you will see a preview window with additional details such as the sender email, recipient email and the message:

Once a double opt-in request message is sent, the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/campaigns-marketing-contacts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">marketing status</a> will be changed to "Pending double opt-in". 
<div style="text-align: justify" class="support-note success primary">Note: You can change the "Pending double opt-in" status back to "Subscribed" or "Unsubscribed". However, if you do that, the double opt-in request will be pulled. </div>
You can send up to 100 DOI requests per day to subscribed/interested contacts. However, and to protect and warm up our email delivery infrastructure reputation for inbox delivery, you can only send one double opt-in request at a time, meaning you can't send them in bulk. 
We recommend not sending DOI requests to uninterested/unsubscribed contacts.

To see how many double opt-in contacts you have next to your single opt-in contacts, navigate to Contacts &gt; Person page, click on "Settings" and enable "Double opt-in".
You will then see a double opt-in column next to the marketing status column:

In the double opt-in column, there are two types of statuses:

When creating an email campaign, you can also create a filter if you want the campaign to be sent only to contacts that are either double opt-in or single opt-in.

Our abuse prevention system triggers alerts when it detects suspicious events in your account. These suspicious events may affect the quality of our service and your reputation as an email marketing sender.
When the system triggers an alert, all Campaigns admins and users with email sending permissions will receive an email notification and see a banner within the Campaigns section with an option to open the alert.

Types of alerts
Depending on the scenario encountered, you will receive any of the following alert types:

High abuse rates increase the number of blocked emails and affect your email sending reputation (inbox) in most email service providers.</td></tr><tr><td>High unsubscribe rate</td><td>The campaign's average unsubscribe rate doesn't meet acceptable email rates, e.g., campaigns with an unsubscribe rate above 1%. 
High unsubscribe rates affect your email sending reputation (inbox) with most email service providers.</td></tr><tr><td>High bounce rate</td><td>The campaign's bounce rate doesn't meet acceptable email rates, e.g., campaigns with a bounce rate from 3%-9%. 
The bounce rate threshold depends on which service provider the user is sending an email to, <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/campaigns-reporting#bounces">bounce reasons</a> and bounce details. A high <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/campaigns-reporting#what-is-tracked">bounce rate</a> affects further campaign engagement and could cause future emails to bounce.</td></tr><tr><td>The sender domain is blocklisted</td><td>The campaign domain appears in a domain blocklist service, e.g., the sender’s domain is blocklisted at <a href="http://sorbs.net/">SORBS.net</a>. 
Email campaigns sent from blocklisted domains have a higher bounce rate and lower open rate.</td></tr><tr><td>Spam trap detected</td><td>Our abuse prevention system and services notify us when a spam trap is detected in a user subscriber list. E.g., when new contacts added contain typos or have been obtained from a public database or third-party vendor. 
Campaigns sent to spam traps are not allowed since they can blocklist our service and your sender domain.</td></tr></tbody></table>
