Campaigns: double opt-in marketing contacts FAQ
A double opt-in, also known as a confirmed opt-in, is a contact that confirms subscription to your company’s newsletters by receiving and approving a confirmation email.
One of the easiest ways to do this is by creating a filter for double opt-in contacts in the people list view.
In the contacts view section marketing tab below “Marketing status”, look for the double opt-in status. The marketing status for double opt-in subscribed contacts will appear as "CONFIRMED".
To send out a double opt-in request, click on the contact you want to send out a request to and click “Send request” in the marketing section.
Next, you will see a content preview similar to the below screenshot:
Once the double opt-in request has been sent, the marketing status for that contact will be changed to "PENDING DOUBLE OPT-IN":
When a contact clicks on a double opt-in confirmation link, Pipedrive saves the time and date when the opt-in was confirmed and the IP address that was used to confirm it. This means you will have proof of consent to your newsletter recipients.
Yes, you can change the PENDING DOUBLE OPT-IN marketing status contact back to "Subscribed" or "Unsubscribed". However, if your subscriber limit (tier) is full and you change the PENDING DOUBLE OPT-IN marketing status contact back to "Subscribed", your contact's status will change to "Pending upgrade".
The send opt-in email button is disabled if:
