Related Organizations

What is it?

Quite often, one organization is related to another; it can be the parent of several child companies, the partner of another company, or quite frankly any number of different relationships.

Whatever you'd like to call it, a company is often related to another. It can be useful, especially from a sales point of view to be aware of these relationships as you're navigating your way through your CRM. Now you can easily document these relationships in your Organization detail pages.

How to create a relationship

  1. Navigate to the Organization detail page of any Organization you want to create one of the relationships with.
  2. Find the related organizations panel in the lower left side of the detail page.
  3. Click view details or the + symbol to expand the related organizations panel.
  4. Type the name of the organization in the search bar, and click on the name of the Organization you want to add once it's found.
  5. Select the type of relationship (parent/daughter/related), and click Add. All done!

What's the difference between "related", "parent", and "daughter"?

Related: Simply relates 2 organizations together. No more, no less.

Parent: Gives the parent organization a higher tier than the daughter.

Daughter: Establishes the same parent relationship. Whichever option you choose depends on which organization page you're creating the relation from.

Note: When you make one organization a parent of more than one organization, this creates a sister relationship between all daughter organizations.

How to remove a relationship

  1. Navigate to the Organization detail page you want to remove the relationship from (either one).
  2. Find the related organizations panel in the left side of the detail page.
  3. Click view details or the + symbol to expand the related organizations panel.
  4. Click the trashcan icon next to the organization you want to remove the relationship from.
