Why are non-Pipedrive contact emails syncing to my Pipedrive inbox?

When setting up your email sync for the first time, you will be able to sync past emails (emails that are dated to before the sync is initialized) from your email provider over to your Pipedrive inbox.

You will have two options for your past sync:

  • Sync past emails from Pipedrive contacts only
  • Sync past emails from all people


The 'Pipedrive contacts only' option is only available for syncing over past emails.

This means that syncing over emails from 'Pipedrive contacts only' applies only when setting up your past email sync and cannot be applied for any new emails moving forward.

Note: You will only be able to configure your past sync when initially setting up your email sync. 

What are my options for emails moving forward?

You will have these two options for future emails:

  • Sync all emails from all labels to your Pipedrive inbox
  • Sync emails with certain labels to your Pipedrive inbox


This will be the sync setting for all future emails. Depending on what you select here, all emails or all emails under the labels you select will be synced over to your Pipedrive inbox, regardless if they are associated with an existing Pipedrive contact.
