Prospector
Prospector is an outbound lead generation tool powered by Cognism. It lets you search a database of over 400 million profiles and 10 million companies, collected from trusted public and private sources.
Use personalized filters to find and add new leads to your Leads Inbox.

Using Prospector
To get started, go to Leads > Prospector and click “Continue to Prospector”.

Click “Start prospecting” to begin searching for prospects.

Searching prospects
You can search prospects by adding specific filter conditions, similar to filtering in Pipedrive.

Prospector searches using publicly available details about people and organizations.
Filtering by person
When searching for people, you can filter by:
- Role details – job title, department
- Location – region, country, state, city
- Name – full name
For example, you can look for “Marketing Managers in New York” by combining job title and city filters.

Filtering by organization
When searching for companies, you can filter by:
- Company profile – size, industry, type, revenue
- Location – region, country, state, city, zip
- Identifiers – name, domain, keyword
For example, you can find “Technology companies in Germany” by combining industry and country filters.

Once you’ve defined the criteria, click on “Search prospects”.

No filters applied
When you remove all filters, you’ll see the following page and options:

- Add prospects – save prospects that match your filters
- My prospects – see people or organizations you’ve already added
- Edit – add filter criteria to narrow down your prospects
- Save filter – save your reusable filters
- The person and organization icons – switch between person or organization prospects
- The “i” button – check your credit balance or click “Get more credits” to update the number of recurring credits
- Start prospecting – a shortcut to adding your filter criteria
Prospect contact details
Contact details always include a link to the prospect’s LinkedIn page. The link becomes available after purchase.
Depending on what the prospect has shared, you may also see their phone number and email address, shown with the relevant icons:

Hover over the icons in the available details column and click “View more details” to preview the information.

Adding prospects
To add the prospect to your account as a new lead, click “+”.

Viewing your leads
After purchase, you can click “View more details” to see the previously hidden information.

You can access the prospect’s full details in the lead detail view by clicking “View”.

Your lead is automatically linked with a contact and organization, with the following fields filled in:
- Lead title
- Person name
- Organization name

The notes section may include extra details that don’t fit into Pipedrive fields, such as secondary phone numbers or work history.
Linking leads to existing organizations
If there’s an organization that already exists in your account, you’ll see the following warning about potential duplicates:

Click “Review” to see the possible duplicate organization.

You can open the organization profile and confirm whether it’s a duplicate by clicking the arrow icon.
After reviewing, you have two options:
- Link organizations – Prevents duplicate organization creation when adding a lead with Prospector
- Do not link – Keeps organizations separate. Creates a new organization when adding a lead with Prospector.
If you linked the organizations, you can click the “...” next to the prospect and see the linked organization or unlink them.

Reporting inaccurate leads
If a lead contains incorrect details, such as an invalid email address, out-of-service phone number or an outdated job title, please report this to our team to request a credit refund.
You can report inaccurate leads from:
- Prospector list view

- Lead detail view

- Deal detail view

Click on “...” > Report inaccurate prospect in any of these views.
Then, fill out a form with the incorrect details. You can also add extra context if needed.

Once reviewed, our team will contact you with the results and let you know if the lead was confirmed to be inaccurate.
