The Pipedrive System ID feature
The Pipedrive System ID feature allows you to update your Pipedrive database in bulk by importing a spreadsheet.
Let’s say we wanted to add an additional custom field to our People, such as a field that documents their job title? Or say we want to give our Organizations new addresses? Or if we even want to change the values of our deals?
We could use the bulk editing and filtering abilities of our list views to edit data in large chunks, but what if you already have all the data you need in a spreadsheet, and you just need to get it into Pipedrive without creating duplicates?

Well this is where the Pipedrive System ID comes into play. Every record — deal, person, and organization — is assigned a unique ID in Pipedrive upon creation. These IDs can be found in the URL of the Detail View of each item, or it can be made visible as a column in the List View.
To update information in bulk, we can export a list of our currently existing data — which includes the ID fields — and make the necessary changes in our spreadsheet, and then upload that spreadsheet to Pipedrive using the ID field to easily map the new information to our database.
Which IDs and fields should I use?
Where do I get the Pipedrive System ID?
Note: You can get Deal, People, and Organization IDs all inside of the List View of the Deals tab. However, if you have Contacts with no associated Deals, they will not show up in the List View of the Deals tab. You will then have to use the List View of the Contacts tab to get those IDs.
These Pipedrive System IDs can be found in the URL of the Detail View of each item, or can be made visible as a column in the List View.
To make them visible in the List View, click the gear icon to open the Choose columns prompt, select the appropriate ID field, and click Save.
Using the ID to update fields
Once your List View has configured to display your intended Pipedrive System ID fields, you can narrow down your results by a filter if necessary. Once you’re all set, just export the list here.
Once exported, you can make whatever any necessary alterations to the data within the spreadsheet. Any changes — even those of Names or Values — will be updated in Pipedrive automatically as Pipedrive will know which deal, person, or organization you are updated based on that Pipedrive System ID.
Once you've made all the edits to your exported list, just upload the spreadsheet to Pipedrive, and map the appropriate IDs to their columns.
Once you've finished mapping, finish the import and the Pipedrive System ID will correctly update your Pipedrive database, with your new information.
Note: If you receive an error when attempting to import a spreadsheet, the issue may stem from your spreadsheet: while there is no maximum limit on the number of columns in the spreadsheet, the maximum file size is limited to 50mb, with a maximum limit of 50,000 rows within the spreadsheet.
