What is a role-based email address?
A role-based email address is a company email address defined by a job role or team rather than a specific person.
These email addresses are usually managed by several people and have generic prefixes that don’t identify a specific employee (for example, a support team that uses an email address like [email protected]
or a marketing team that uses [email protected]
).
Role-based email addresses usually don’t opt-in to receive emails, meaning they’re not genuine subscribers. For that reason, role-based email addresses are associated with increased bounce rates and spam complaints, negatively impacting sender’s reputation and deliverability.
Pipedrive automatically blocks specific role-based email addresses from receiving campaign emails to protect deliverability.
Here is a list of some of the role-based email addresses that are blocked for Pipedrive campaigns.

In cases where the use of role-based email addresses is necessary, sending a double opt-in request to these addresses is required before adding them as subscribers.
Once the recipients confirm the double opt-in request, campaigns can be sent to these role-based email addresses.
