<p style="text-align: justify">To help with a smooth transition from sales into after-sales, you can mark a deal as <strong>won</strong> and create a project directly from the won deal dropdown.</p>

This includes being able to send and receive emails from your <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/projects" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">project page</a>, as well as link existing emails to your projects. </p>

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Sending emails from Projects</h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">If you have <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/email-sync" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">email sync</a> active on your account, you will be able to send emails directly from your projects in the same way you would from your <strong>d</strong><strong>eals</strong> or <strong>c</strong><strong>ontacts</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">To begin, select one of your <strong>p</strong><strong>rojects</strong>, then navigate to the <strong>Emails</strong> tab: </p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Another way you can send emails and have them linked to your project is the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/smart-email-bcc" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Smart Bcc</a> feature. Just like deals, each project has a Smart Bcc link specific to them, so you can add this link to the Bcc field of an email you’re sending and link it to your project: </p>

How can I send emails with Projects?

<p style="text-align: justify"><strong>D</strong><strong>eals</strong> are used in Pipedrive to reflect sales and the process used to complete them. But what about after-sales actions businesses take, including internal, pre-sales and post-sales operations? </p>
<p style="text-align: justify">You can use <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/projects-by-pipedrive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Projects</a> to reflect these processes, such as shipping a product after a sale is completed or following up with clients regarding repeat sales opportunities. With <strong>Projects, </strong>you no longer need to duplicate your deals or create different pipelines. <br></p>

<p style="text-align: justify">When organizing your Pipedrive data, you may find ongoing initiatives that don't fit into the deal or lead categories. These might include long-term efforts with multiple activities and phases, such as planning a presentation before or during your sales processes or monitoring post-sales actions like shipping.</p>

Some of these things can be reflected as calendar <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/activities" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">activities</a> on specific dates and times, but what about those that don’t need to show up on your calendar, and might not even need a due date or owner?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Using <strong>t</strong><strong>asks</strong> and <strong>subtasks</strong>, you can create to-do's alongside your larger project activities, and keep your checklist of duties clear and sorted. </p>

<p>Within any project, you can find the <strong>"+ Task"</strong> button under the <strong>p</strong><strong>lan</strong> tab. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify">When you click the <strong>"+ Task" </strong>button, the contextual view will open and you will be asked for the following information: </p>

The <strong>”Skip weekends”</strong> option is applied in a way where if the due date falls on a weekend, then the due date will move to the following Monday. Weekends are always accounted for in the day count from the project start date.<br></div>
<p style="text-align: justify">Once you hit <strong>Save</strong>, the newly created task will appear within the specified project and phase. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify">While some <strong>tasks</strong> are straightforward, others are more complex and may require <strong>subtasks</strong> to be completed. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify">To create a subtask, click the <strong>"+"</strong> within any of your existing tasks: </p>

<p>To create a new group, click the dropdown box in the top right corner of your project detail view, and select <strong>"Groups."</strong> </p>

<h2>Where to find it</h2>
<p>On the left panel, click <strong>Projects </strong>then the <strong>Templates</strong> tab. There, you’ll see your existing templates. Click the green <strong>+ Template</strong> button in the top-right corner to create new templates:</p>

<h3>Adding a new template using an existing project</h3>
<p>To use an existing project to create a new template, click the <strong>"..." </strong>in the top right corner of your project, and select <strong>"Convert to template." </strong></p>

<p>You will then be asked whether or not you want to delete the existing project after converting. Once you have selected an option, click <strong>Convert</strong> to confirm the creation of your new template: </p>

<p>When your new template is complete, activities and tasks from the project will be duplicated into the template in the same phases, and due dates will be mirrored in the template.</p>
<div class="support-note success primary"><strong>Note: </strong>If the project doesn't have a start date, the template will calculate due dates based on the earliest plan item due date (i.e the earliest scheduled activity or task.) </div>

<h2>Using your project templates</h2>
<p>After creating your template, you will find it in your templates list. Click the <strong>Use</strong> button to create a project from it: </p>

<p>You can enter information related to your new project, link existing deals and contacts, and apply labels. </p>

<div class="support-note success primary"><strong>Note: </strong>The Start date field is required when creating a new project using a template, since the relative due dates of tasks and activities are calculated based on the project start date. However, start dates can be in the past or future.</div>
<p>Your templates can also be used when creating projects via automation. </p>
<p>If you have projects enabled, and you have created at least one template, you will see the option to use templates in your automation: </p>
