If you still find yourself often working in Google Mail's web app and you're looking for a handy solution to track and update your deals without needing to switch between tabs Pipedrive and Google Mail, the perfect solution is here – Pipedrive's Chrome Extension for Google Mail. Displaying as a small tab inside your Google Mail web app, the Chrome Extension allows you to get a quick overview of the ongoing deals and activities you have with a contact person. In addition, you can also add new contacts, create new deals and add and complete activities. To get started with the Extension, open Chrome (or download and install it <a href="https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>), then find the <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pipedrive-gmail-extension/hdjdpboljojghdadlojieidijhipdibd?hl=en-US" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pipedrive Gmail Extension in the Chrome web store</a> (don't worry, it's free!).

From there, click "Add to Chrome", then "Add extension" when prompted. When the extension is installed, you'll notice the Pipedrive logo in the top right-hand corner of your Chrome window, next to the URL bar:

Once you have the extension installed, log in to your Google Mail account and you'll notice the same Pipedrive logo on the right-hand side of the screen:

Click it to open up the extension, log in to Pipedrive within the widget, choose the company you want to use and you're away! From your Google Mail inbox homepage, you'll get an overview of the activities you have scheduled. Click on an email though and the real magic happens – you'll be able to view or add contact details for the sender of that email, as well as view and add deals, activities and notes:

Now you can save time switching between tabs all the time! Note: The Chrome Extension does not currently support syncing or attaching emails to a person or deal. If you would like to sync your emails and attach emails, please use the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en/articles/360000015825-Smart-Email-BCC" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Smart Bcc</a> or <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en/articles/360000030169-Email-Sync" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">email sync</a> to add your emails to Pipedrive.

Chrome extension for Google Mail

<div style="text-align: justify" class="support-note success primary">Note: While attachments and files uploaded to your deals and contacts can be stored in Google Drive, email attachments are not stored in Google Drive. These are hosted on Pipedrive’s own storage system.</div>
With the <a href="https://www.pipedrive.com/en/marketplace/app/google-drive-integration/1b39bb1d756ca40b" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Drive sync</a>, you can use Google Drive as a storage location for your attachments and files uploaded to Pipedrive.
You can also create new Google documents inside Pipedrive and link existing ones from Google Drive to items (deals, people, organizations) in Pipedrive.

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Syncing with Google Drive<a name="syncing-with-google-drive"></a></h2>
To sync your files with Google Drive:
<ul>
<li>Go to Personal preferences (click on your name at the top-right corner) &gt; <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/settings/files" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Drive</a> to access the sync options</li>
<li>Select “Connect now” to connect your Google Drive account</li>
<li>
Select “Allow” to enable the sync feature</li>
<li>Select whether to store Pipedrive files in a separate folder on Google Drive</li>
<li>Select whether to enable the sharing of all Google Drive files with other Pipedrive users in your company</li>

<div>Whether you need to stop syncing for troubleshooting purposes or to connect to a different account, click on ”Stop syncing”. You can use the following privacy settings in Google Drive: <ul>
<li>
View only: All Pipedrive users are to be able to view but not edit your files when set to “can view” or “can comment.” “Can comment” will allow other users to leave comments on your files.</li>
<li>
Private: Keep specific files attached to deals private or read-only, but you’ll have to edit the sharing permissions within Google. Files will still show in your file queue on Pipedrive, but others will not be able to open them.</li></ul><hr>


<h2 style="text-align: justify">Adding new files<a name="adding-new-files"></a></h2><div class="support-note success primary">Note: Documents imported from or saved to Google Drive are stored in Google Drive, not Pipedrive. If the file is removed from Google Drive, it will also be removed from Pipedrive. </div>
Before uploading files from your synced Drive account, go to your <a href="https://app.pipedrive.com/settings/files" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Settings</a> and ensure “Send user-uploaded files to Google Drive” is toggled “on.“<figure style="margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;text-align:center;"><img src="https://kb-cms.pipedriveassets.com/drive%20.jpg" alt=""></figure>
Then, go to the upload files tab in the detail view of one of your deals, organizations, or people contacts. You'll see that, instead of only the "Upload from your computer" option that you had prior to enabling the Google Drive sync, you now have several options:

Select from your computer: Upload a file directly from your computer, which keeps your file stored within Pipedrive, and migrate it to Google Drive.</li>
<li>
Import from Google Drive: Add a file already in Google Drive. Simply begin typing the name of your file in and, once found, select it.</li>

<div class="support-note success primary">Note: We recommend creating a separate calendar in Google for your Pipedrive tasks, to avoid any confusion with your existing Google calendars. To enable the calendar sync, go to Personal preferences &gt; <a href="https://craft-kb.pipedrive.tools/settings/calendar-sync">Calendar sync</a> and click “Add new account.”

When you sync your Google calendar, you have several options as far as what data gets transferred between calendars and how. 
<ul><li>Select calendar – choose which Google calendar shares a sync with your Pipedrive account. </li><li>Select sync type – select whether you want a one-way sync (Pipedrive activities sync to Google, but not the other way around) or a two-way sync (both calendars have all data saved from one to the other.) </li><li>Save calendar event to Pipedrive as – pick a Pipedrive activity type for synced Google events to be recorded as in Pipedrive</li><li>Sync these Pipedrive activities to calendar – choose which types of Pipedrive activities you want saved over to your Google calendar </li></ul>
You can also choose how you want private events saved and whether or not information about linked contacts in Pipedrive is saved to your calendar events in Google.

If you need to disconnect your Google calendar sync, you can go to your calendar sync settings and select ”stop syncing.“

Any email account you‘ve synced with in the past will be displayed under synced previously, and you can sync it again by clicking ”reconnect.“

Only one Google account can be connected to Pipedrive at a time. This connected Google account will be used for all Google integrations – Calendar, Contacts and Drive – for that user account. In order to connect a different Google account to Pipedrive, you must first disconnect the initial Google account sync.

Can I connect more than one Google account at a time?

This is likely related to the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/syncing-with-google-drive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Drive</a> integration that you and your colleagues might have set up in Pipedrive.
If you have uploaded a file to Pipedrive while having the Google Drive integration turned on, then it will be stored on your Google Drive. You and your colleagues will be able to open the files stored in Google Drive as long as: 
<ul>
<li>They also have the Google Drive integration turned on in Pipedrive.</li>
<li>The file is set to "Shared" in your Google Drive.</li>
</ul>
If either of these criteria is not met, you and your colleagues will receive an error message.

Why do I get an error when I try to open a file?

Adding the Pipedrive Gmail add-on to your workflow saves you time by allowing you to seamlessly track and update Pipedrive data directly in Gmail. 
The add-on uses the side panel of your Gmail account, and you can: 
<ul><li>see valuable sales context in your emails </li><li>access a quick overview of your ongoing deals and activities with an email’s contact person.</li><li>add new contacts and deals</li><li>add and complete activities, and have them automatically populate into your Pipedrive account.</li></ul>

To get started, go to the <a href="https://gsuite.google.com/marketplace" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Workplace Marketplace</a> and search for the Pipedrive CRM add-on.

You can also click the ”+“ (Get Add-ons) button on the right side of your mailbox and search for the Pipedrive add-on from there.

With the add-on enabled, you can use the addresses from emails you receive in Gmail to create new people in Pipedrive.

If the email address is already linked to a person in Pipedrive, you’ll see that person’s linked items and notes in the sidebar.

To add a new deal from the Gmail sidebar, click ”add deal.“

To add an activity, start by clicking ”Add activity.“

After that, fill in the requested details and select ”Add“ in the bottom right corner.

If you don‘t have an email open, the add-on sidebar will show all of your upcoming activities.

<a name="schedule-meetings"></a>Schedule meetings </h2>
You can use the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/en/article/scheduler" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Scheduler feature</a> to book meetings with your clients directly from your email composer. 
To insert a Scheduler link to an email, compose a new email and click the Pipedrive logo.

This will open a window where you can select an availability to link in the email.

After you choose an availability, a link is added to your email that will let the recipient pick an appointment time from the available slots.
