<p style="text-align: justify">Since each item in Pipedrive can only have one owner, this feature is useful when more than one user is working on a deal and needs visibility of the related data and any ongoing progress.</p>

<p>There are two ways to follow an item, depending on the type of item. </p>

However, if a deal has more than one contact person related to ongoing processes, you can add these additional people as <strong>participants</strong>. <br></p>

<p style="text-align: justify">If an item is <strong>hidden</strong> from you in Pipedrive, you don’t have the necessary <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en/articles/360000309478-Permission-Sets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">permission</a> or <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en/articles/360000309498-Visibility-Groups" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">visibility</a> to view it.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">There are a couple of reasons items may appear as “hidden.”</p>
<ul>
<li>Your visibility group doesn’t have access to that item.</li>
<li>Your admin user has turned off the <strong>“See the names of items and users they can’t access”</strong><strong> </strong>permission under <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/article/global-user-management" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Global permissions</a>.</li></ul>
<p>When an item is hidden, and the aforementioned permission is turned <strong>off</strong>, a note will appear with hidden items to explain why they’re not visible. </p><figure style="margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;text-align:center;"><img src="https://kb-cms.pipedriveassets.com/hidden%204.jpg" alt=""></figure>

Why are items shown as "hidden"?

<p>To attach an important file to a deal or contact in Pipedrive, go to the <strong>detail view</strong> of the item and select the "<strong>Files</strong>" option.<br>You can drag and drop files into that section, or click "<strong>Select from your computer</strong>" to browse through your computer's files and select your intended file.<br>Files can also be uploaded using the <a href="https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en/articles/207290995-Syncing-with-Google-Drive" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Drive sync</a> in Pipedrive.<br><br>Once uploaded, that file will be accessible only through the detail view of that deal, by any user who has the visibility permission to see that deal.</p>

<p><strong>Adding a description to your file</strong></p>
<p>When a file is uploaded in an item's detail view in Pipedrive, it may be helpful to provide a short description of the contents of that file. To add a description to a file, go to the uploaded file and click on the "<strong>...</strong>" button. You will also have the option here to <strong>delete</strong> or <strong>download</strong> your file. </p>

How can I upload a file to a deal or a contact?

<p style="text-align: justify">Notes are a great way to add extra information to the detail view of your items, including links and images. </p>

<h2 style="text-align: justify">Adding a note</h2>
<div class="support-note success primary"><strong>Note:</strong> Each note size can be <strong>100 KB</strong> maximum and you can have up to <strong>100</strong> notes per deal, person or organization. If a note exceeds the 100 KB size it will be broken down into multiple notes.</div>
<p style="text-align: justify">To add a note to an item, go to the detail view and click <strong>”Notes“ </strong>in the top right corner. </p>

How can I add notes?

<p>If the person was linked to the organization after the email in question was linked with that person, the email will not show under the organization.<br>Only after linking the person to the organization will any new emails that are received also appear under the organization.</p>

Why are my emails not showing on the organization page but appear in the deal and contact?

<div class="support-note success primary"><strong>Note: </strong>The <strong>email sync</strong> feature is only available on Advanced and higher plans. <p>If the email is showing on the detail view of the person but not on the detail view of the deal, it is likely because the email has not yet been linked to the deal.<br>To link the email to the deal, go to your Pipedrive inbox, click on the email thread and click <strong>"A</strong><strong>dd new deal"</strong> to link it to a deal. </p>
