Users with account settings permissions can switch between any of our available plans at any point during the billing cycle.

When changing between subscription plans, the time the change takes effect will depend on whether you‘re upgrading or downgrading plans.

Upgrading plans

If you’re upgrading your plan, the new plan will take effect immediately, and you’ll receive a credit memo and an updated invoice. The credit memo will be for the balance remaining in the current period of the original plan.

You‘ll then receive an invoice charging for the new plan for the remainder of the billing cycle. The balance of the credit memo will be applied fully to the invoice for your new plan.

Example:

A user on the Growth plan, billed monthly, switches to the Premium plan halfway through the billing cycle.

• Credit memo: a credit for the remaining time (2 weeks) in the monthly cycle for the Growth plan.
• Invoice: an invoice for the Premium plan for the remaining time (2 weeks) in the billing cycle. The balance of the credit memo will be applied as a partial payment towards this invoice.

Downgrading plans

If you’re downgrading your plan, the changes will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, when issuing the next renewal invoice.

Further subscription changes made before the end of the current billing cycle may override the scheduled one.

Example:

A user on the Premium plan, billed monthly, switches to the Growth plan halfway through the billing cycle.

• The user will be on the Premium plan for the rest of the billing cycle and be charged for the Growth plan at the beginning of the new cycle
• While the change is pending, you’ll see a banner at the top of your billing overview page specifying the scheduled update.
