Note: This action is only available to Admin Users.
Designed to keep you on your toes, the Rotting feature will allow you to be aware of deals that have been idle for a longer period of time.
Once enabled and configured, your Pipeline View will visually notify you of any deals that have remained untouched for longer than the defined rotting period.
Note: Before using the Rotting feature, it must first be enabled in Settings > Features.
The Rotting Feature
To define rotting periods for your pipeline stages:
- Go to Settings > Pipelines. The Customize Sales Stages page opens.
- Click on a stage name in the pipeline. The Edit stage dialog opens.
- Define the deal "rotting" option as On to enable the Rotting feature for this stage.
- Define the number of days of inactivity after which the deal is marked as rotten in the display "rotting" after option.
- Click Save.
You'll know a deal has gone rotten by the the red color on the deal tile in your Pipeline View.
If your deal is rotten, simply schedule a new activity for that deal to restore it.
Editing any details of a rotten deal — custom fields, expected close date, value, etc. — will also restart the rotting cycle again.
As the Rotting feature does not look at the next activity date, any deal that has an activity scheduled for far in the future will still go rotten.
In this situation, we might suggest reconsidering what you consider to be stages and activities in your company Pipedrive account.
If your stage's defined rotten period is set so that a scheduled activity could be farther away, the rotten period may be too short. Alternatively, you may consider marking the deal as LOST and reaching out to the customer again in the future.
