Note: The minimum OS version required to install the mobile app is 10+ for Android devices and 16+ for iOS devices.

The Pipedrive mobile app helps you stay connected with your customers while you’re on the move. After a call ends, you can log it as an activity and add notes with key takeaways, so you always stay up to date on your progress.

Note: You can only log calls when the phone number is stored in the default phone number field of a contact. If you store the phone number in notes or custom fields, it won’t be logged.

Calling from the iOS app

When you first download the Pipedrive mobile app, all calling settings are turned on, but we recommend reviewing them to ensure everything is configured as you prefer.

Setting up calling preferences

In the iOS app, there are three settings for phone calls, which you can find by opening “...” (More) > Preferences:

  • Set up Pipedrive Caller ID – When enabled, it displays the caller and linked organization name as long as the number exists in Pipedrive under an existing contact person
  • Call logging – When enabled, it prompts you to log outgoing phone calls as activities after the call ends
  • Call integrations – Currently, iOS only supports WhatsApp. Note that you’ll only see this option when you have WhatsApp installed on your iOS device.
Note: Caller ID on iOS devices only works for phone numbers that include a country code. Due to iOS platform limitations, only the Pipedrive contact name will display during an incoming call.

Making phone calls

Open a lead, deal or contact’s detail view in the iOS app and tap the phone icon at the bottom to start the call. The number will then pop up, and the call will begin when you tap on it again.

You can also open the people list view and hit the phone icon on the right-hand side of the screen.

Logging your calls

If you have call logging enabled, you’ll see the call summary view at the end of the call each time your outgoing call is answered. You can fill in the activity details, notes and schedule follow-up activities for that contact.

After entering all the details, tap “Done” and it will appear as a regular activity linked to the detail view.

Note: Due to iOS system restrictions, only outgoing calls made directly from the Pipedrive mobile app can be logged as activities. Incoming calls and outgoing calls made outside the app won’t trigger a logging prompt.

Calling from the Android app

Note: To make calls from an Android device, you must first enable calling from the Pipedrive mobile app. This article explains how to do so.

Setting up calling preferences

Before calling your customers, open “...“ (More) > Preferences > Calling, to clarify which application handles the call. You’ll see the following options:

  • Cellular
  • WhatsApp
  • JustCall
  • Aircall
Note: If all options are disabled when you start the call, the number is copied to the system dialer. We suggest leaving it disabled if your Android device has a dual SIM.

You’ll also see the following options for logging your calls:

  • Log outgoing calls on Pipedrive – This option lets you log outgoing calls made from the Pipedrive app as activities
  • Log outgoing calls outside Pipedrive – This option lets you log calls made from outside the Pipedrive app as activities
  • Log incoming calls – This option lets you log incoming calls from Pipedrive contacts
  • Caller ID for incoming calls – This option will show the contact name, along with any linked organization and deal names, on the screen for incoming calls
Note: If you want to enable logging calls outside Pipedrive, log incoming calls or use caller ID for incoming calls, you’ll need to set Pipedrive as your default caller ID and spam app. The prompt to do so opens when you attempt to enable any of these options. Note that this permission is only to identify calls and differs from the default phone app for making calls.

Making phone calls

To make phone calls to your contacts in the Android app, go to the lead, deal or contact’s detail view and hit the phone icon at the bottom.

You can also go to the people list view and hit the phone icon on the right-hand side of the screen.

Logging your calls

With the Android app, you can log both incoming and outgoing calls as activities. When enabled, you’ll see an activity prompt once the call ends.

After entering all the details, tap “Save” and it will appear as a regular activity linked to the detail view.

Note: Your standard network charge will be applied to any calls made from the Pipedrive mobile app.
